Many people feel their nose detracts from their whole face which takes away the natural beauty of their eyes, hair, and other facial features. Some are not happy with the way their noses have developed since childhood and are concerned with its dimension making them feel self-conscious. Others have breathing problems that regular home remedies and holistic medicine cannot treat. Rhinoplasty is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures to immediately improve a sinus problem and to improve the shape of the nose. Some patients seek rhinoplasty to improve an inherited characteristic such as a bump on the nose or address deformities or breathing complications related to a nasal fracture. If breathing is problematic because you suffer from a sinus problem, rhinoplasty can help tremendously improve the problem at hand. In order to ensure a good recovery and speed up the process, follow Dr. Vishal Kapoor’s recovery instructions. Dr. Kapoor has performed a number of rhinoplasty procedures and has years of experience with rhinoplasty patients. Here are additional tips from Dr. Kapoor that you can use to help maximize your recovery process and receive the best results possible.
Avoid any clothing that is tight and must be pulled over the face such as turtle-necks and tight t-shirts. Instead, try wearing clothing such as loose tops and button up shirts to avoid pulling over the face overall.
Avoid vigorous exercise at all times for the first two weeks after post-operation. The gym can wait as your nose is at its most critical recovery phase. Slowly increase exercise activities after two weeks so that you can remain pain-free.
Avoid heavy chewing as well for the first week. The idea is to put as little strain on the nasal structure and surrounding tissues as much as possible.
Stay out of direct sunlight when possible in the first few weeks so that your skin can heal without scarring or darkening of the skin. The skin covering your nose is in a continouse healing phase in the weeks and months following your rhinoplasty procedure. When you must go out in direct sunlight, be sure to use a high SPF sunscreen to protect your sensitive skin.

Rhinoplasty, or some may call it a nose job, is simply redefining the characteristic of the face while particularly shaping the nose. Even the slightest alteration of the nose can greatly improve the appearance of the face and enhance other facial features such as the eyes and facial structure. Dr. Kapoor will give you a rhinoplasty makeover that is unique to your facial features and aesthetically balanced to the face so that it highlights your eyes and cheeks.
The best candidates are those who would like to address their nose deformities whether their nose is too big, too small, excessive flaring, visible bumps, abnormally crooked and or asymmetrical. Best candidates for Rhinoplasty are also those who suffer from breathing complications. As with any elective cosmetic procedure, patients should be in good physical health and have realistic expectations for improvements. The consultation is an excellent time to discuss the rhinoplasty operation and medical history to Dr. Vishal Kapoor. He will then review your medical history and advised the best procedure including available options and techniques to safely achieve the best possible results.
Rhinoplasty or any cosmetic procedure functional of the nose usually takes 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours and may be done under general anesthesia or under sedation. Incisions are placed inside the nostrils, but in some cases a small incision may be made in the natural creases along the sides or near the base of the nose. These heal quickly leaving scars looking nearly invisible to the human eye. If there is any bleeding, a light dressing may be placed inside the nostrils and removed the same day so our patients have nothing to worry about when it comes to pain or blood. At the end of the operation, a cast is used to help heal the nose faster and is removed in 7 days.
Open Rhinoplasty
Open rhinoplasty also known as external rhinoplasty, is when a small incision is made between the nostrils on the underside of the nose. This allows the tip of the nose to be opened in order to reveal the structures of the lower and middle third of the nose. Compare to closed rhinoplasty, listed below are the differences:
Closed Rhinoplasty
Closed rhinoplasty, also known as endonasal rhinoplasty, is when all incisions are confined to the inside of the nostrils, resulting in no visible skin incisions. Once the incisions are made, the skin is lifted from the underlying cartilage and then reconstructed.
