Dr. Lahar was born in Northern Virginia and spent much of his youth on the East Coast with his parents, younger sister, and Airedale terrier. Interestingly, for his high school senior project, he shadowed a plastic surgeon and loved the experience. This was his first introduction to surgery and it made a lasting impression. For college, he went on to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. There, he majored in the top Biomedical Engineering program in the country and volunteered at the local hospital.

Having enjoyed patient interactions while volunteering, Dr. Lahar decided to become a medical doctor and received his MD from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He was then accepted into one of the most competitive surgery programs in the country, the University of California- Los Angeles. He completed both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies there, spending 9 years to learn the craft and refine his technical skills.

After completing a thorough reconstructive training at UCLA, he sought high level training in Aesthetic Surgery at the University of Texas- Southwestern Medical Campus in Dallas, Texas, the best aesthetic plastic surgery program in the country.

He worked alongside the foremost leaders in plastic surgery, learning modern, long-lasting, and safe techniques. This experience left him excited to bring these skills to the masses. Following his training in Dallas, he returned to Los Angeles to bring world class plastic surgery to his patients. Dr. Lahar is also a clinical instructor in plastic surgery at UCLA, mentoring residents and helping them refine their surgical skills. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Saba, a cardiac perfusionist at UCLA and their dog, Winston.

Dr. Lahar believes in providing an optimal patient experience from your first contact with the office all the way to the final result. After listening to your goals and wishes, he will work with you to help you achieve your vision. He will be there for you for your entire surgical journey.
